    Title IX

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

—Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 to the 1964 Civil Rights Act

As Purdue University Fort Wayne’s Title IX officer, Christine M. Marcuccilli is responsible for coordinating the university’s compliance with Title IX, including overseeing all complaints of sex discrimination and identifying and addressing any patterns or systemic problems that arise during the review of such complaints. Questions or concerns may be directed as follows:

In light of recent reports concerning a university’s response to allegations of child abuse, you are reminded that under Indiana law, each person over the age of 18 has a duty to report child abuse or neglect. In the event of an emergency, call 911. If it is not an emergency, immediately alert the police or Child Protective Services (800-800-5556). Thank you for your commitment to the safety of children on our campuses.

    Sexual Assault Awareness

The purpose of this website is to provide awareness and education for students and parents concerning sexual assault—what it is, including the legal perspective; what to do if it happens; where to go for support; and much more. The Office of Institutional Equity on the Purdue University Fort Wayne campus works in conjunction with the Office of the Vice President for Ethics and Compliance on the Purdue West Lafayette campus, Campus Title IX officers, and Office of the Dean of Students to provide this information to our campus community.

Purdue University Fort Wayne’s Policy Regarding Sexual Assault

Purdue University Fort Wayne’s policy regarding sexual assault can be found in the policy on Antiharassment (III.C.1).

    The policy states:

    • “Any act of sexual violence, including but not limited to rape, sexual assault, sexual battery and sexual coercion” is considered sexual harassment and is therefore unacceptable conduct that will not be tolerated.
    • All Purdue University Fort Wayne community members—faculty, staff, and students—are encouraged to report and address any incidents of harassment.
    • Acts of retaliation against faculty, staff, and students who report or file a complaint of harassment or who assist or participate in the investigation of a harassment complaint are strictly prohibited.
    • Any individual or group that violates the policy will be subject to disciplinary or remedial action, which can include termination of employment or expulsion.
    • Disciplinary action for violation of the harassment policy can be enhanced if the harassment is found to have been motivated by bias based on race, gender, religion, color, age, national origin or ancestry, genetic information, or disability.

    File an Incident Report

Due to recent changes to the federal Title IX Regulations, our online reporting form is currently under construction. If you would like to file a formal Complaint of Harassment, Discrimination, or Title IX Harassment, you may schedule an appointment or request a formal complaint form by emailing [email protected].

    Safety Report

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act, the campus police or safety and security department on each university campus provides information on crime statistics, crime prevention, law enforcement, crime reporting, and other related issues on their respective campus.

Our annual report can be viewed on the University Police website.
