Jonathan Young
Dr. Jonathan Young is an active pianist, teacher, conductor, collaborative pianist, and educator. He holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance from the University of Kansas, where he studied with Dr. Steven Spooner. Career highlights include performing with the Purdue University Fort Wayne Orchestra in Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, Bartók’s Piano Concerto No. 3, and Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, serving as coach/accompanist at Opera in the Ozarks, attending the Bel Canto Summer Academy in Germany as a collaborative pianist, and being named a finalist for The American Prize in Solo Piano Performance in 2020. He currently serves as Lecturer in Music at Purdue University Fort Wayne.
