Cultivating a Learning Culture

The Office of Assessment supports the development of effective summative and formative tools to evaluate student learning.

Aligning Instruction with Learning Outcomes

Assessment of student learning helps us understand exactly how and to what extent students are mastering the skills and knowledge faculty expect by the end of a course or program. It's a vital part of the teaching and learning exchange and provides the clear, actionable guidance needed to align course activities and academic programs with expected student learning outcomes, ensuring every step forward moves students closer to their goals and future careers.

Listed here are the reports by department within each school/college/division/center/program for the academic year being assessed.

On July 1, 2021, the College of Arts and Sciences split into two new colleges, one focused on liberal arts and the other on science. The reorganization was approved by the Purdue University Board of Trustees on Feb. 5, 2021.

The School of Education transitioned to a structure comparable to that of the Doermer School of Business as part of a dissolution of the College of Professional Studies.

Three departments currently in the College of Professional Studies moved during the summer. Human Services became part of the School of Education. Hospitality and Tourism Management found its administrative home in the business school. The Department of Criminal Justice and Public Administration moved to the College of Liberal Arts.

Effective July 1, 2018, IPFW was realigned. Health Science programs were transferred to Indiana University management and control as an additional location of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. The balance of programs remained part of IPFW, and the institution's name was changed to Purdue University Fort Wayne. The assessment reports in this section are programs that were assessed prior to the realignment.
