Xiaokai (Katie) Jia, PhD., joined the CELT team while pursuing her doctoral degree in Instructional Systems Technology at Indiana University. She has a passion for active-learning strategies. Her dissertation focused on instructors’ strategies to support student reflection in service-learning. Xiaokai has taught technology integration courses (WIU, IU, PFW), an introductory instructional design course (WIU), and an instructional 3D modeling and animation course (WIU). She has also conducted program evaluations for federal and community-funded early childhood wellness programs. At CELT, Xiaokai works with faculty, departments, and administrators to promote effective teaching strategies and improve student learning outcomes in face-to-face, blended, and online learning environments that utilize educational technology in meaningful ways. Xiaokai positions herself as a faculty advocate. She greatly appreciates the opportunity to work with all the instructors at Purdue Fort Wayne.
