Samet Baydar, PhD candidate in Learning Design and Technology at Purdue University, joins CELT as Lead Instructional Designer of Artificial Intelligence. He holds a Graduate Certificate in AI Integration in Education, and his doctoral research centers on personalized learning and the pedagogical application of emerging technologies. His background spans language education, industry experience in manufacturing and management, and concurrent work as a digital learning consultant, giving him a distinctive blend of academic rigor and real-world perspective. Throughout his doctoral journey, Samet has consulted with educators on course design, assessment, and the thoughtful integration of AI into teaching practice, and has led faculty-facing workshops grounded in instructional design theory and active learning principles. At CELT, he is committed to being a trusted pedagogical partner for PFW faculty, helping them engage with AI thoughtfully, confidently, and always in service of student learning.
