Prior to joining CELT, Rachel was a full-time faculty member in nursing. During that time, Rachel engaged with CELT in many ways, including the Online Course Design Review team, Peer Review team, Teaching Fellows, and Advisory Board. Through these roles, Rachel became passionate about helping faculty accomplish their teaching goals.
Rachel officially joined the CELT team in 2020 as the Services Liaison, then advanced to the role of Instructional Consultant, and now serves as the Assistant Director of Faculty Teaching Development. Rachel draws upon her knowledge and experiences as a faculty member, as well as pedagogy and instructional design, to coordinate programs and deliver caring and effective consultations that promote teaching excellence. She enjoys helping faculty discover and apply principles of good course design, educational technologies, and teaching strategies that maximize their teaching and support their professional goals.
