CELT Teaching Certificates
- Endorsed by PFW Academic Officer’s Committee; comprised of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and PFW Deans as a component of long-term faculty development in teaching
- Align with Core Values of PFW’s Strategic Plan, with PFW Guiding Principles of Promotion and Tenure, and with CELT’s mission and will help faculty to demonstrate “...significant and ongoing commitment to advancing student learning and fostering student success.” (SD 14-35, p.2)
How to Enroll in a CELT Teaching Certificate
If you are interested in a CELT Teaching Certificate and would like to enroll, please follow these instructions:
- Log into Brightspace
- Once you are logged in, CLICK THIS LINK. It will take you directly to the CELT Certificate Brightspace Enrollment Survey.
- Then follow the directions to enroll in a CELT certificate.*

*Enrolling only grants access and in no way creates a requirement or expectation that you will finish. Additionally, if you would like to enroll in the Brightspace Essentials Asynchronous and/or Brightspace Advanced Asynchronous certificates, you will need to contact the instructional designer directly. Directions are below in the certificate description.*
Certificate Workshop Alternative Plan Request Form
If you missed one certificate-eligible workshop due to time conflicts or some urgent reasons, please submit a request to make an alternative plan with a CELT consultant. Please note, you can submit ONE request for each certificate. After receiving your request, a CELT consultant will contact you to discuss the appropriate alternative plan.

This self-paced, asynchronous certificate aims to help instructors navigate the opportunities and challenges associated with teaching in an AI-powered Age. Through engaging workshops, participants will identify the potential impacts of AI tools on student learning and assessment design, develop effective prompting strategies for different teaching and learning related tasks, enhance activity and course design to support student learning and assessment through AI tools, identify the potential benefits of AI for instructors' efficiency, and develop AI usage policy by considering the legal and ethical dimensions of AI in education.

Join us for a semester-long book group on “Navigating Choppy Waters: Legal Issues College Faculty Need to Know” with author Kent Kauffman, Associate Professor of Business Law. Over four interactive sessions, we will engage in small-group discussions and facilitated Q&A focusing on key themes from the book. Participants will gain critical insights and deepen their understanding of legal issues in higher education, while Kent provides expert guidance to help unpack these issues.

Teaching as an International Faculty Member
Teaching as an International Faculty Member
International faculty will receive cultural awareness training that prepares them for teaching at an American university. Participants will familiarize themselves with differing cultural concepts of teaching and learning as well as various ways of effective verbal and non-verbal communication in the classroom. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their own learning and teaching preferences and address potential challenges.
