department of theatre
Undergraduate degrees for all theatrical ambitions.
Design. Special effects. Technical direction. Arts administration. Marketing. Dramaturgy. Performance. While we prepare you for these jobs in the theatre, you may also apply what you’ve learned to other fields, such as public service, fundraising, the law, academic and business administration, and financial services. Theatre requires deep collaboration, problem-solving, and critical reading and writing. Theatre training forms strong career foundations in a variety of fields.
The theatre minor pairs well with any major.
Our minors often become our majors when they realize that success in college is more likely when students do what they love. However, some students remain minors in theatre and find that our program complements their degree. Bottom line: we welcome you no matter why or how you found your way to us—as a minor, a second or primary major, or just taking some classes or auditioning for shows in order to form a well-rounded college education.
