If Purdue is paying an international person an award, the person must have a work authorization or Visa status that allows the person to receive lawful pay in Indiana.
The payment must be made directly (not to a third party or parent) to the person who is authorized to receive the payment.

Visa or Immigration statuses allowed to receive payments:                   

• Lawful Permanent Resident
• B-1 or B-2
• F-1 (Award, Scholarship only)
• J-1 Student Visa (Award, Scholarship only)
• J-1 Scholar (must be paid to sponsoring institution, unless Purdue is the sponsoring institution)
• J-2 – only with EAD
• H-1B, TN, O or E-3 Visa (must be paid to sponsoring institution, unless Purdue is the sponsoring institution)
