Department of International Language and Culture Studies
Languages bring the world to life.
You can learn so much from studying a new language and culture. So what are you waiting for? Jump in. And don’t worry. We’re here to help.
This is where you’ll make your passion work for you.
When you learn a new language, you’re learning so much more than just words, word order, and pronunciation. All our programs will expose you to new cultures, diversity, history, art, literature, and the factors that create ever-evolving language and culture systems. You’ll learn how the study of international languages and cultures can aid in identifying and solving problems. You’ll grow in your ability to engage in critical reading and analysis in your target language, and you’ll enhance communication skills in your native language along the way. Studying an international language leads to a greater understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for other cultures—meaning you’ll become a more responsible and committed global citizen.
*Students in this program have the option of earning a dual degree with a B.S.Ed. in secondary education.
