Luke Rodesiler, Ph.D.
Luke Rodesiler is a professor of secondary education and chair of the Department of Teacher Education at Purdue University Fort Wayne. A former public high school English teacher and coach, he commonly teaches courses focused on the preparation of secondary teachers. His research interests include exploring the roles of popular cultural texts, particularly texts from sports culture, in the English language arts classroom and nontraditional forms of teacher professional development. His work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals such as English Education, English Teaching: Practice & Critique, Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy, English Journal, and Voices from the Middle. His peer-reviewed books include Reading the World through Sports and Young Adult Literature (NCTE, 2024), Bringing Sports Culture to the English Classroom, (Teachers College Press, 2022), and Developing Contemporary Literacies through Sports (NCTE, 2016).
