Jessica Montalvo
Jessica Montalvo is the Elementary Education Academic Advisor for the School of Education at Purdue University Fort Wayne. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of education. She is a TRIO Student Support Services Alumna and a Fort Wayne native. She earned a BA in Spanish at Indiana University Bloomington, a secondary teaching certification from IPFW, and a Master of Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. Her roles have included K-12 Spanish teacher, teacher licensing and accreditation coordinator, educational coordinator, director of student support services, director of student affairs, and academic advisor.
Her passion for service is reflected in her diverse body of creative work, where she uses storytelling and the arts to explore meaningful social issues and amplify important voices. Her experience includes multiple roles in musical theater, with projects centered on mental health and human connection, as well as serving as producer on two short films and original series addressing social issues, cultural identity, and the lasting impact of childhood abuse. Through each project, she brings creativity and compassion together, using the arts as a powerful avenue for connection, awareness, and meaningful dialogue.
