Attendees to the 2016 MWAA at IPFW have two options for lodging:

Option 1. Make your own arrangements for a private hotel. Some hotels as indicated on the above map are within convenient driving (but not walking) distance to campus, near the I-69 exits to Coldwater Road or Lima Road.

The recommended hotel for events at the IPFW Department of Mathematical Sciences is the only one within walking distance of campus, marked "A" on the above map, across a pedestrian bridge over the river (pictured below).  The MWAA is reserving a block of rooms at this location only:

The Holiday Inn at IPFW & The Coliseum is located just north of Coliseum Blvd. at:

4111 Paul Shaffer Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46825.

The group rate is available through 09-23-16.  You may phone 260 482 3800 and mention the Midwest Workshop on Asymptotic Analysis IPFW block rate, or use this reservations link:

Option 2: There are vacancies in Student Housing that may be used by IPFW visitors, at a very low cost (approx $31/night including taxes and linen fees).  The student housing buildings are on campus, within walking distance of the event buildings.

If you are interested in this option, you can indicate this during the online conference registration, or you can contact the organizers (CoffmanA (at), or our department staff (Mrs. Sheila McFarland) by email or phone.

  • email McFarlaS (at)
  • phone 260 481 6821 from 8am to 5pm EDT

We will reserve a room for you, so you won’t have to do anything further before arriving, and we will send you check-in instructions by email.  (This email was sent Oct. 4, contact us if you didn't get it.)  The available rooms are the apartments with bathroom, kitchen area, and 2-4 private individual bedrooms.  If you have any questions about the facilities (not the registration), you can contact Student Housing directly (housing (at), or visit their web site: The IPFW student housing complexIcon_External_Link is in the lower right corner of the above map, in the triangular block between Crescent, Hobson, and Trier (see also the Campus Map).  There is an entrance on Crescent, at the same intersection as the main campus entrance (near the Triangle Bridge for walking from Housing to campus), but the entrance on Trier is more convenient to drive to the Clubhouse, which is where guests can check in.

More information from the local organizers:

  • All talks will be in Kettler Hall (see the Campus Map), with secretarial support in the Kettler 200 office suite.
  • There is free parking in most of the campus lots, all three parking structures, and at the hotel and student housing. Park for free in the white-lined spaces (green lines are for paid Purdue "A" permit only). Lots 6 and 10, and parking garage P1 are probably most convenient for Kettler. Lots 6 and 9 have permit-only spaces (painted green) and also marked disabled-permit spaces (painted blue).
  • There may be traffic due to construction, or events at the nearby Memorial Coliseum or Johnny Appleseed Park, so if you're driving directly to the MWAA event, it may be easier to enter campus using the main entrance from the east, on Crescent Ave. near the Triangle Bridge. From any direction, plan for delays due to city traffic.
  • Fort Wayne is in the Eastern Time Zone (EDT).
  • IPFW Helmke Library hours: Thursday 8am-11pm, Friday 8am-6pm, Saturday 8:30-5:30, Sunday: Noon - 9:00, although this for front desk services only; the stacks will be closed due to major renovations.
  • IPFW Bookstore in Walb Union: hours Thursday 9:00-6:30; Friday 9:00-3:00.
