Banded Tuition.
Save money and graduate faster.
You’ll find many benefits with banded tuition. It’s designed to help you graduate on time and reduce your cost.
Banded tuition is a structure that charges a single-rate for enrollment within a specific range of credits. At PFW, this means that students pay the same rate for course loads of 12 to 18 credits per semester.
By enrolling in and passing 15 or more credits per semester, banded tuition can help students graduate on time - within four academic years - and reduce the overall cost of their education.
The banded tuition rate includes the per-credit base tuition and mandatory fees rates calculated at the on-time graduation enrollment load of 15 credits per semester. Per-credit mandatory fees include: technology, student service, student service facility, and repair & rehabilitation.
No. Banded tuition does not include fees assessed for specific programs or courses.
Program and course fees outside the banded tuition rate include: course materials, differentials, certification exams, hotel & tourism management, international student health insurance, labs, Doermer School of Business - management & marketing, student success & advising, and miscellaneous fees. A PDF with more information on these fees is available HERE or by speaking with the Bursar office.
Taking 16-18 credits allows the student opportunities to accelerate their graduation progress and to pursue a minor or certificate at no additional cost.
You will continue to pay the per-credit tuition and mandatory fees rate if enrolled in fewer than 12 credits.
You will pay the banded tuition rate up to 18 credits, plus the per-credit tuition and mandatory fees rate for each credit over 18.
Financial aid eligibility is based on enrollment status. Enrolling within the banded tuition credit range (12-18) is considered full-time and the banded tuition rate is the same. Therefore, financial aid should remain consistent regardless of the number of enrolled credits within that range; however, individual circumstances can vary. It is important to know that federal, state, and institutional financial aid can be limited beyond the fourth year of college, and some Indiana state-aid programs require completion of 30 credits each academic year to retain state aid eligibility. To check your financial aid eligibility, contact the Office of Financial Aid by email, phone, or in person.
Yes. Undergraduate, online courses within the 12–18 credit range are charged the banded tuition rate.
Yes. All students taking a full-time course load at PFW will receive a banded tuition rate. The out-of-state rate may be greater than the in-state rate, but the structure still applies.
No. Banded tuition applies to undergraduate students only. It has been implemented to encourage and help undergraduate students earn a bachelor’s degree within four years.
No. Students will pay the per-credit tuition and mandatory fees rate for all summer courses regardless on the number of enrolled credits.
Banded tuition eligibility for study abroad courses depends on the design of the individual study-abroad program. If this question applies to you, contact International Education at [email protected] or 260-481-6034
