Refreshed “Feel the Rumble” campaign rolls out
FORT WAYNE, Ind.—School pride and spirit abound as Purdue University Fort Wayne rolls out the refreshed “Feel the Rumble” campaign this weekend. The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will launch the campaign on Saturday, December 1, when the men’s basketball team hosts the University of Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos at 2 p.m. at the Gates Sports Center.
“Feel the Rumble” has been the rallying cry of Purdue Fort Wayne in recent years and continues as a source of inspiration for the Mastodons.
“We have such a unique mascot and we are so very proud to be Mastodons,” says Kelley Hartley Hutton, Director of Athletics. “That pride is not just coming from our student-athletes, but our entire campus community, our fans, and our alumni. ‘Feel the Rumble’ is a natural way to connect our past to our future in a familiar and meaningful way.”
The campaign refresh is part of the continued branding strategy for Purdue Fort Wayne. As with previous branding work and campaigns, the university worked with its branding partner, SME, which is based in New York. In June, the university announced a new name, logo, and identity for the athletics program that reflected the realignment to come fully under the Purdue University umbrella.
“’Feel the Rumble’ represents our unstoppable will, our competitive spirit, and our collective determination to carve out a new legacy that honors and builds on past achievements,” says Jerry Lewis, Vice Chancellor for Communications and Marketing.
The campaign will have a broad reach through billboards, television, radio, and print.
