Purdue Fort Wayne to host Thrive Week, celebrating wellbeing across campus
Purdue University Fort Wayne will host Thrive Week, a campuswide celebration of wellbeing, from March 16 to 19, inviting students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to engage in activities designed to support mental, emotional, and physical health.
Throughout the week, the campus community can participate in a variety of featured experiences, including mental health sessions, mindfulness and meditation activities, creative breaks, movement opportunities, Farm Olympics, free food, and Thrive Week T-shirts. The events are designed to encourage connection and provide practical strategies for supporting personal wellbeing.
Thrive Week reflects Purdue Fort Wayne’s ongoing commitment to supporting the wellbeing of its campus community by highlighting the importance of mental and emotional health, physical movement, creativity, connection, and resilience.
“Supporting the mental and emotional wellbeing of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni is central to our mission as a university,” said Kerrie Fineran, chief of campus and community wellbeing at Purdue Fort Wayne. “Thrive Week provides opportunities for our campus community to pause, connect, and explore practices that help individuals manage stress, build resilience, and create healthy habits that support success both inside and outside the classroom."
The week will culminate with the Wellbeing Summit on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the International Ballroom at Walb Student Union, serving as the anchor event of Thrive Week.
The summit will feature a vibrant vendor fair, interactive demonstrations, giveaways, and hands-on experiences focused on supporting physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. Attendees can explore a variety of wellness offerings, including massage tables, facials, and other self-care experiences. The event will also include a community brunch, inviting participants to sit down together and connect over a shared meal.
“Thrive Week is about helping people discover simple, meaningful ways to care for their wellbeing while strengthening connections across campus,” said Eric Manor, associate chief of campus and community wellbeing. “Whether it’s through movement, mindfulness, creativity, or conversation, we want members of our community to leave feeling energized, supported, and empowered."
Purdue Fort Wayne continues to emphasize the importance of wellbeing by offering programs and resources that support the holistic health of students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Thrive Week serves as an opportunity to highlight these resources and foster a campus culture that encourages individuals to prioritize mental and emotional health.
