Melissa M. Proctor

News Release

Omnibus returns: Melissa Proctor tickets available Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

Atlanta Hawks executive and professional sports trailblazer Melissa Proctor will be the next presenter in the Purdue University Fort Wayne Omnibus Speaker Series on Feb. 12. Proctor’s dream was to become the first female coach in the NBA, but is now executive vice president and chief marking officer for the Hawks and State Farm Arena, serving in both positions since 2016. She will step onto the Auer Performance Hall stage at 7:30 p.m. to present “From Ball Girl to CMO,” the title of her 2020 biography.

Tickets will be released Thursday at 1:30 p.m. They are free, general admission, and available on a first-come, first-served basis through the Schatzlein Box Office or PFW’s online ticketing platform.

A $1.50 convenience charge is assessed per ticket for online orders. Anyone wanting to get tickets to the show in person may visit the box office Tuesday through Friday from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Reserved online tickets can be sent to patrons via text message or email. These digital options are helpful to avoid standing at the box office the night of the show. Tickets can also be picked up in person beginning one hour before the presentation.

The first ball girl for the Miami Heat as a 16-year-old, Proctor began her professional career working for the team’s basketball operations division. She moved to Atlanta to work for Turner Broadcasting System in 2010, and currently oversees the club’s host of day-to-day responsibilities including marketing operations, Hawks Studios creative agency, live experience and production, and retail and brand merchandising.

The Omnibus Speaker Series at Purdue Fort Wayne is made possible in part due to the support of the English-Bonter-Mitchell Foundation, which has sponsored all 30 seasons.
