Big solar setback reflects fossilized (fuel) leadership
The Allen County Commissioners have been discussing setbacks for solar panel fields. A setback is a buffer within which activity cannot occur, so as to not unduly impact one’s neighbors.
Despite recommendations for smaller setbacks, the commissioners selected 1,000 feet—over three football fields—which seems overly large and arbitrary.
