Meet Lee M. Roberts
Professor of German in the Department of Language and Culture Studies (Fall 2023)
Dr. Lee M. Roberts is a professor of German in the Department of International Language and Culture Studies at Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW). He has served as the Associate Director of the (I)PFW Institute for Holocaust and Genocide Studies (2015-2018) and coeditor of the Palgrave Series in Asian German Studies (2015-2020. Recent publications include coediting Korean Culture in the Global Age (2025) and Transnational Korea in the 20th and 21st Centuries (2024) and chapters in History of the Shanghai Jews: New Pathways in Research (2022) German East Asian Encounters and Entanglements (2021). He is presently working on Vergangenheitsbewältigung (facing the brutal World War II past) in postwar German and Japanese literature and culture. He teaches a wide range of classes, from lower-division courses offering an introduction to the German language to upper-division courses on German literature and culture, film history, and Introduction to the Liberal Arts (IDIS 10605).
