Specialized accreditation at a university refers to the external validation granted to a specific program or school within the institution, rather than the university as a whole. While regional or national accreditation ensures that the institution as a whole meets basic quality standards, specialized accreditation ensures that a particular field of study or school meets the rigorous criteria set by a relevant professional body.
