Advisory Board
Purpose and Scope
The Experiential Learning Advisory Board supports and champions experiential-learning initiatives across Purdue University Fort Wayne. These high-impact, student-centered learning experiences include, but are not limited to, internships, fieldwork, simulations, study abroad, service learning, clinical education, authentic and immersive lab work, and student-led research and creative endeavors.
The Advisory Board will help establish a shared institutional definition of experiential learning at PFW and articulate a clear vision and goal statement for the initiative. This foundation will inform strategy, integration, and resource alignment.
Provide strategic direction for embedding experiential learning across academic programs in alignment with state mandates, institutional goals, workforce needs, and community engagement.
Advocate for the collection of data to document and understand the various experiential-learning opportunities that departments provide to PFW students.
Advocate experiential learning opportunities available for all students, regardless of major, background, or financial means.
Coordinate with existing university units (e.g., CELT, Career Development Center, department and college programs) to avoid duplication and ensure synergy in efforts.
