Beyond the Classroom

Preparing students for the future with hands-on learning and real-world experiences.

What is experiential learning?

Experiential Learning is a student-centered and intentionally designed process in which learners actively engage in real-world, immersive learning experiences connected to their academic or professional fields. Through the integration of theory and practice, these hands-on experiences promote reflection, emphasize contextual relevance, deepen understanding, enhance creativity, and strengthen student readiness for both civic engagement and professional careers.

Take learning to another level by integrating formal classroom instruction with practical experience. Experiential learning opportunities are categorized into the following types:

  • Internships
  • Simulations
  • Field work
  • Practicums
  • Study away or abroad programs
  • Service learning
  • Clinical education
  • Research projects
  • Design projects
  • Cooperative education
  • and other immersive educational experiences
