Advising and Registration

Academic advising is essential to a productive academic experience. Advisors can identify and explain the most effective course sequence and help students select classes that best fit their individual curricula and career goals.

The advisor can also help you:

  • Design an appropriate course load
  • Answer questions and address problems
  • Link your program of study to relevant career opportunities
  • Identify other university personnel and services that can assist you
  • Provide assistance in the registration process

The College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) advisors has three types of advisors.

Freshman Advising

Student Advising and Advocacy Center (SAAC)
Brice Everett, Academic Advisor
Office: Kettler Hall, room 110A
Phone: 260-481-0439
Email: boeveret@pfw.edu

Brice will be your primary Advisor during your freshman year and will meet with you before each semester before class registration.
He will be available to answer questions, address problems and connect you to campus resources.
Students will meet with him until they have earned 30 or more credits.

Faculty Advisors

In addition to an academic advisor, students are also assigned a faculty advisor in their area(s) of interest/major. This may happen upon being admitted, or after the freshman year; the process is a little different in each area. Students should make an appointment to meet with their faculty advisor prior to their week of priority registration each semester to plan their courses, talk about career planning, and other industry specific information

CVPA Student Success Center
Karla Yauchler, Advising Coordinator
Office: Visual Arts, room 213
Phone: 260-481-6051

VPA has an advising coordinator to offer support to both faculty advisors and students in all departments/schools.
