The Communication Sciences and Disorders department offers a pre-professional degree program in communication sciences and disorders that helps students prepare for graduate degrees in speech-language pathology or audiology. With a graduate degree, professionals may begin human-service careers working with children, adults, and/or older persons who have speech, language, or hearing disorders.

Successful CSD professionals will offer assistance to enhance our most distinctively human ability—communication. In the B.S. program, coursework and real-world experiences prepare degree candidates to work with individuals with communication disorders in educational, healthcare, agency, rehabilitation, clinical, and private settings. The beginning practicum courses prepare students to work with clients as they continue their education in graduate school. These practicum courses offer services through the Purdue Fort Wayne's communication disorders clinic to the campus and surrounding community. For more information contact CSD at or 260 481-6410.

Note: The Department of Audiology and Speech Sciences was renamed to The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
