Teaching Collegiate Connection courses.
Our participating academic departments and partnering local school districts are jointly responsibility for nominating teachers. We select high school teachers using the same standards that we approve adjunct faculty who teach on the Purdue Fort Wayne campus with. You must meet the teacher-appointment criteria for each course you wish to teach. The PFW academic department representative will proved your necessary final approval. Make sure that you understand our administrative policies and procedures as well.
Requirements
The teacher appointment criteria.
To qualify to teach a Collegiate Connection course, you must have the following:
- A master’s degree in content, a master’s degree plus 18 graduate credits in content, or the willingness to pursue either (with a development plan)
- Demonstrated experience of teaching advanced courses

Approval Process
Steps to success.
Complete the application checklist.
Provide preliminary information to start the dual-credit discussion with an academic department in addition to a letter of intent, references, and a copy of your teaching license.
Apply to teach with the program.
Complete the teacher application and attach any required documents from the application checklist.
Attend orientation.
If you are approved, you must participate in an orientation session prior to teaching the course. Additionally, you will be required to attend an annual professional-development training event or a department meeting. This training will allow you to become affiliated with Purdue Fort Wayne academic departments and to develop a collaborative relationship. A stipend and mileage will be provided to you for this training.
