Let the Mastodon Spirit Inspire You

Welcome to the Herd!

As a new Mastodon, you’re learning the lay of the land, meeting fellow students in the Herd, and discovering all the ways you can have a successful college experience—academically and socially. New Students Programs is here to make this journey a little easier.

New Student Orientation

It’s all about the Mastodon way.

Your life as a Mastodon starts with New Student Orientation. Learn about the transition to college. Discover all the services and support you now have access to. Take part in one-on-one advising. Schedule your first semester of classes. Our Running with the Herd New Student Orientation experience is built with you in mind and prepares you for your journey at Purdue Fort Wayne.

Mastodon stampede

Let’s get ready for the school year.

The last step in our university’s orientation experience is the Mastodon Stampede, a welcome weekend program for all new undergraduate students. The program is held the weekend before fall classes begin. From academic related programming to social events, this weekend is designed to help students feel fully prepared for their first day of classes. Registration for this step opens June 1.

Campus Kickoff

Fun events and activities. Giveaways and souvenirs. Plenty of tasty treats. Campus Kickoff is the time for our Mastodons to start the new academic year off right and celebrate new and old faces on campus.

Check out the Events Calendar for Campus Kickoff days to see what we have planned.

Student Success Coaches

We can’t wait to meet you.

Our student success coaches serve as an initial point of contact for you and your family during your adjustment and transition to Purdue Fort Wayne. You’ll get the chance to meet your coach during New Student Orientation. Throughout your first year, they’ll continue to reach out and provide opportunities to connect. You’re a Mastodon now, and you’re never alone in the Herd.
