Guidance for employees looking to grab a bite at student-focused programs
As the start of the fall semester nears, all faculty and staff on campus can help foster a positive experience for students in the chow line by observing a few important guidelines.
First and foremost, food at student-focused events is intended for students only. This logical practice is an important way to ensure ample supply on the day of the event and accurate budgeting during the planning phase.
For faculty and staff who would like to enjoy what’s being served, there are two ways to make that happen.
Volunteers will be needed for multiple programs this fall. Those opportunities and sign-up links will be communicated in upcoming editions of Inside PFW. Volunteers at these designated events can eat for free.
A second, new way to grab a bite at student-focused events is to purchase a meal card from Don’s at Walb starting Aug. 25. The $50 punch card entitles the employee to five (5) meals. There is no limit on the number of cards that can be purchased, but university funds may not be used for this purpose.
These guidelines apply to all PFW and IUFW faculty and staff.
Three upcoming events where food will be free for employees include:
- Aug. 22 | Welcome Back BBQ
- Sept. 2 | Dons’ College Picnic
- Nov. 21 | Global Student Celebration (free with canned food donation
Here is the current schedule of student-focused programs where the punch cards will be accepted:
