Position Overview
What we're looking for
The Graduate Assistantship (GA) position is an employment position. This position is not a financial grant nor a financial scholarship. Applying for a GA position is just like applying for any regular employment position.
A Graduate assistant is required to be a full-time MBA student, enrolled in a minimum of three graduate-level classes (9 credit hours) per semester, and maintain a cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0 or better. Duties may consist of, but are not limited to, assisting faculty with research of various types; analyzing and reviewing data and statistical information; supporting faculty with course management; and representing DSB and the MBA program at specified events. Assistantships typically require a 10-hour-per-week commitment and may be renewed contingent on a satisfactory performance evaluation every semester.
Graduate assistants receive a stipend paid biweekly during the contracted period, plus a tuition remission for a maximum of 12 credits per semester (special course fees may apply).
The GA position carries a service obligation to the Richard T. Doermer School of Business. As a Graduate Assistant you represent the university and are to present yourself in a professional manner.
