Administrative Excellence Award
For the hardworking and dedicated.
The Administrative Excellence Award is the APSAC’s way of honoring our staff members for outstanding job performance, service, or contributions to the university. The recipient of the award will receive the following:
- An Administrative Excellence Award plaque
- $250 monetary award (via paycheck minus associated taxes)
- Name added to Administrative Excellence Award Honorees plaque in Kettler Hall staff and faculty lounge
Awardee will be informed of this honor prior to the registration deadline for the recognition luncheon. Awardee may invite one quest to the luncheon.
All members of the Purdue Fort Wayne All Professional Staff Advisory Council, as defined under Article II of the constitution, are eligible for nomination for the award.
- Previous recipients shall not be eligible for nomination in the three years following their award but shall be eligible in succeeding years.
- Nominees shall be judged on the basis of their performance in the three year period directly preceding the nomination.
- Additionally, no departmental quotas shall exist regarding the number of nominations submitted.
- Eligible administrators may be self-nominated or nominated by another Purdue Fort Wayne employee using the online submission form.
- The Administrative Excellence Award subcommittee shall consist of at least three members, one of whom shall be drawn from the elected membership of the APSAC steering committee. The membership of the subcommittee shall include representatives of at least three different divisions of the university. If possible, the subcommittee will include one or more past recipients of the Administrative Excellence Award.
- In the event that a member of either the subcommittee or the steering committee is a nominee, that person shall not participate in either the selection or the approval process.

Administrative and Professional Staff and Dependent Scholarship Fund
To be eligible to receive an award from these scholarship funds as a staff member or an employee dependent, a candidate must:
- Be an APSAC member or a dependent of a APSAC member, and have been employed with Purdue Fort Wayne for at least one year.
- Be currently enrolled in a degree program.
- Maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Be eligible for fee remission under Purdue University guidelines.
- Complete the scholarship form available below, which includes a 250-500 word description of the classes to be taken and how the funds will be used.
A Professional Development Fund for career growth and knowledge.
The APSAC manages a Professional Development Fund, designed to provide financial support and sponsorship to programs that benefit our community. This is done through work-related conferences, speaking engagements, workshops, classes and more.
Stipend Criteria
To be eligible for an award of $150 per year toward professional development activities a Purdue Fort Wayne employee, you must meet the following requirements:
Be a member of APSAC
Be employed with Purdue Fort Wayne for at least six months
Confirm approval from supervisor(s) for attendance at the professional development activity (and any related time off, if applicable) and attach documentation (email, memo, or scanned document) to fund application
Apply for the fund at least three weeks before the professional development activity, or at least three weeks before funds must be applied
Complete the Professional Development Stipend application, which requires the following:
- A brief description of the professional development opportunity
- How the opportunity applies to the your current position at PFW
- How the stipend will be used
