Mastodon Stampede is a four-day extended orientation experience that gives new students the opportunity to move in early, make connections, explore campus, and discover Fort Wayne before classes begin.
Designed exclusively for incoming students, Mastodon Stampede helps you build friendships, connect with faculty and staff, learn your way around campus, and become part of the Mastodon community from day one.
Whether you're meeting classmates, attending campus traditions, exploring your academic college, or experiencing all that Fort Wayne has to offer, you'll begin the semester feeling prepared, confident, and ready to succeed.

Get settled into your new home before the campus rush. Take time to unpack, meet your neighbors, and prepare for an exciting weekend ahead.
Til Next Time Tent
Location: Student Housing (Trace and Waterfield)
Time: 3:30–5 p.m.
Take a moment to say goodbye to your family and supporters. Snap a photo, celebrate this milestone, and get ready to begin your journey as a Mastodon.
Floor Meetings
Location: Student Housing (Trace and Waterfield)
Time: 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Meet your Resident Assistant and fellow residents, learn about community expectations, and discover resources that will help you feel at home.
"Dine with the 'Dons" Class of 2030 Dinner with Alumni
Location: Waterfield Campus Clubhouse
Time: 5:30–6:45 p.m.
Connect with PFW alumni over dinner and hear their stories, advice, and insights.
Pep Rally
Location: Gates Sports Center
Time: 7:00-8:30 p.m. (Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.)
Show your Mastodon pride at this high-energy welcome event. Meet student-athletes, cheer on your classmates, and take your shot in the Half-Court Shot Competition.
Walmart Takeover
Pickup Location: Gates Sports Center
Time: 8:30–11 p.m.
Stock up on college essentials during an exclusive shopping trip with your fellow Mastodons! Enjoy additional discounts on select items and enter for a chance to win a raffle prize.
Breakfast
Location: Walb, International Ballroom
Time: 9–10 a.m.
Fuel up for the day ahead with breakfast alongside your fellow new students. It's the perfect opportunity to connect before the day's adventures begin.
Surviving College Pop-up Game Show
Location: Auer Performance Hall
Time: 10–11:30 a.m.
Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. Check-in will take place at the Music Center Lobby. Think you have what it takes to survive college? Test your knowledge, learn tips for success, and compete for prizes in this fast-paced, interactive game show experience.
