The Office of Major Scholarship Advising (OMSA) is the central coordinating office providing information, advice, and support to students who wish to apply for nationally competitive major scholarships.

The OMSA scholarships are highly competitive, usually requiring a minimum overall GPA of 3.75 or higher. In addition to academic excellence, each scholarship requires that applicants have an outstanding record of at least one of the following:

  • service
  • leadership
  • research

If you have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and believe that you have the potential to compete for one or more major scholarships, then you should schedule a meeting with the Office of Major Scholarship Advising. To schedule such a meeting, please contact the Director of the Office, Dr. James Toole, at or at 481-6885.
