Purdue Board of Trustees approves new name for Park 3000 Building at Purdue Fort Wayne
FORT WAYNE, Ind.—The Board of Trustees of Purdue University today approved a new name for the recently purchased Park 3000 property by Purdue University Fort Wayne. The building will now be known as the Richard T. Doermer School of Business Building.
Purdue Fort Wayne Chancellor Ron Elsenbaumer reacted to the news, saying, “We are proud to recognize the renewed commitment to our institution by the Doermer Family Foundation and are very pleased the Board of Trustees supported renaming the Park 3000 Building as the Richard T. Doermer School of Business Building.”
The Purdue Fort Wayne Foundation and two anonymous donors also contributed to the total of $2.8 million that supported the purchase of the Park 3000 facility.
The building, which includes over 77,000 square feet of usable space, will undergo some minor renovations to make it ready for occupancy. The property also includes approximately 13 acres of land and parking for more than 550 vehicles. The new site will serve as the cornerstone of the university’s new South Campus.
The Richard T. Doermer School of Business and several other university departments are expected to move into the building, located at 3000 East Coliseum Boulevard, in 2020.
