PFW hosts Career Services’ annual fall Mastodon job and internship fair

FORT WAYNE, Ind.—More than 150 companies will be looking for new employees at the annual fall Mastodon Job and Internship Fair on Tuesday, October 1, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse in the Gates Athletics Center at Purdue University Fort Wayne.

The fair, sponsored by the university’s Office of Career Services, is one of the largest in northeast Indiana. Employers will be looking to fill more than 4,000 positions, including internships, part-time, and full-time jobs.

The fair is open to current Purdue Fort Wayne students, faculty and staff, alumni, and the general public. Professional dress is required. Attendees will be able to enjoy giveaways and snacks provided by Career Services, the Student Government Association, and the Student Activities Board. Purdue Fort Wayne students who go to the fair will also receive a free padfolio.

“We’re expecting to see anywhere between 400 and 600 job seekers,” says Renan Reilly, program coordinator at Career Services. “At our spring 2019 fair we had close to 400 people come through, and at the fair last fall it was much closer to 650 people.”

As for employers, Reilly added, “As of right now, we have 130 employers signed up, but we expect that number to increase to as many as 180 by next Tuesday.”
