We all can play a part in suicide prevention
September is recognized as National Suicide Prevention Month, a time for communities across the nation to reflect, take action and strengthen our shared commitment to saving lives.
Suicide is not an individual tragedy alone; it impacts entire communities.
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, every person who dies by suicide leaves behind loved ones and a ripple effect of grief and bereavement. Suicidal thoughts and attempts also carry profound consequences, affecting families, schools, workplaces and entire networks of support.
