Fort Wayne Swimming and Wellness Alliance nears fundraising goal
The Fort Wayne Swimming and Wellness Alliance is approaching its $54 million fundraising goal for construction of the new Fort Wayne Aquatic Center, announcing that contributions have surpassed $47 million.
The planned facility will permanently house the competition pool used during the 2024 U.S. Olympic Swim Trials in Indianapolis.
A Purdue University Fort Wayne study projects the center would create up to 250 jobs and generate roughly $20 million in annual economic impact by attracting competitions that boost local hotels and restaurants.
