Fort Wayne celebrates Japanese culture at the annual Cherry Blossom Festival

An expanded Cherry Blossom Festival returned to the campus of Purdue University Fort Wayne on Sunday. The 18th annual celebration of Japanese culture included the involvement of several PFW student organizations. The university has served as the event’s host since it moved from its downtown location in 2022.

PFW Vice Chancellor for Financial and Administrative Affairs Glen Nakata is a festival board member. He also volunteered to serve as an emcee for several of the larger activities this year. WANE 15 connected with Nakata throughout the day to learn why the festival continues to be so popular.
