News of an $803,000 grant from the Don Wood Foundation to help the College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science at Purdue University Fort Wayne build two new labs and modernize the equipment in two that already exist was shared last week by multiple media outlets across the state.
New labs dedicated to metallurgy and cybersecurity are projected to be done by 2027. The purchase, installation, and training associated with the highly specialized, state-of-the-art equipment that will enhance the existing fluids and pneumatics and power machinery labs will happen immediately. This first phase of the two-year initiative is expected to be done during the upcoming fall semester.
