Allen County first Indiana county to receive 'Certified Welcoming' designation
Allen County is the first county in the State of Indiana to earn the designation “Certified Welcoming” from the national organization Welcoming America. It joins 31 other counties and municipalities across the country to earn the prestigious distinction.
“Allen County has always been home to the newcomer,” Commissioner Therese Brown said to attendees of Sept. 19’s Welcoming Fort Wayne Awards at Purdue Fort Wayne. “It is to everyone’s benefit that they find their place here, that they are welcome, included and inspired to start a new journey in Northeast Indiana.”
