2 PFW language professors receive prestigious honor from UNESCO
Two members of Purdue University Fort Wayne’s faculty have achieved a first for the state by being awarded a UNESCO Chair.
Shannon Bischoff and Mary Encabo Bischoff now share the role of UNESCO Chair on Rights Education among Indigenous and Non-Dominant Language Communities with Candace K. Galla, an associate professor of Indigenous language and literacy at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
The official location of this UNESCO Chair is Purdue Fort Wayne. The university is only the 29th institution in the United States to be awarded a UNESCO Chair and the first in Indiana.
