Slippery Elm
Description
The mucilaginous inner bark of the slippery elm has been used medicinally. Its habit is somewhat vase shaped, as with the American elm. The tree is susceptible to Dutch elm disease, but not as susceptible as American elm trees. The leaves have a sandpapery texture.
