Shingle Oak

					Description
The shingle oak, a red oak type, has leaves that are unlobed, untoothed, downy beneath, and have a single bristle at the tip. A thin, bowl-shaped cap encloses one-third to one-half of the acorn. The wood was once used to make shingles.
