Downy Serviceberry

Description
Downy serviceberry is a small tree (10–15 feet in height) and is most commonly found along the edge of woodlands and stream banks. New leaves are pubescent beneath. Snow-white flowers appear with the leaves in early spring. The somewhat dry purple-black fruit is eaten by birds, including the ruffed grouse, and white-tailed deer, raccoon, opossum, and fox.
