Well-Aware Certificate Training Series : Well-Aware 1: NOTICE

NOTICE. RESPOND. CONNECT.
 
The Well-Aware Certificate Training Series helps faculty and staff build practical skills for recognizing when someone may be struggling, responding when someone may be at risk for suicide, and connecting students with campus and community resources.
To earn your Well-Aware Certificate, complete one offering of each of the three trainings below. Trainings are offered on different days and at different times throughout the year to provide flexibility.
 
Well-Aware 1: NOTICE

Recognize When Someone Is Struggling.

Learn to recognize signs that a student or someone you care about may be struggling and consider practical ways to approach, listen, and offer support. 

Location: Wellbeing Center, Kettler G02 Conference Room
Training Length: 60 minutes, followed by 15 minutes for questions. Participants who need to leave after the first hour are welcome to do so.
Registration: Space is limited and registration is required. Additional sessions may be added if demand exceeds available space.

Suicide Awareness & Knowing What to Do
Build confidence in recognizing possible suicide risk, asking about suicide, responding compassionately, and knowing what to do next.

Well-Aware 3: CONNECT
Navigating Campus & Community Resources
Learn how to connect students with the right support through CARE referrals and campus and community resources for mental health, basic needs, housing, transportation, and other concerns.

March 24 4:00 p.m. 
April 8 3:00 p.m.

 

Remember: You can complete the entire 

Well-Aware series during Thrive Week on 

March 22, 23, and 24.

Certificates will be awarded in May 2027.
