PFW Percussion Day
Walb Student Union Classic Ballroom
PFW’s Percussion Day is a chance to immerse yourself in the percussion program at the School of Music. High school ensembles from around the region will converge on the campus to perform for each other and participate in clinics and workshops. This year, we welcome guest artist, acclaimed marching percussionist and DCI Hall of Famer, Thom Hannum, as our clinician. As one of the most acclaimed marching percussionists in the world, Thom has worked with ensembles such as the Cadets, Crossmen, Star of Indiana, Carolina Crown, and is currently a senior advisor for the Boston Crusaders. In addition to his work in DCI, Thom is also the newly appointed head of education for Pearl Drums. Alongside PFW Assistant Professor of Percussion, Dr. Matt Keown, the two will give clinics and work with participating ensembles in front of the audience. This exciting learning opportunity gives you a glimpse into what it means to be a percussionist at PFW, learn from some of the leading percussion educators, and experience performances from high school groups throughout the area.
Saturday, Jan. 10 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
WALB Union Room 126 (Classic Ballroom)
Admission is free for everyone.
