An International Concert Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

Rhinehart Recital Hall

A phenomenal duo of musicians from Chile, Kike Galdames and Claudio Gonzalez, distinguished throughout South America and beyond, will take the stage to help PFW celebrate Hispanic Heritage month.  One of the artists, Kike Galdames, pictured here, played with the renowned group, Illapu. Their concert will include original compositions musicalizing the works of Gabriela Mistral, a Chilean poet, educator, and diplomat, as well as the first Latin American author to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1945. This PFW multi-departmental collaboration is sponsored in part by the School of Music, College of Visual and Performing Arts, Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, College of Liberal Arts, and International Language and Culture Studies. This concert series is presented by Fort Wayne based cross-cultural arts and education organization, Bridging Worlds Inc., in partnership with the Chilean Ministry of Arts and Culture.
