Art Exhibition
September 30, 2024
Featured Faculty Artist: John Hrehov
Visual Arts Gallery
John Hrehov’s primary interest is in the symbolic content of images. His work is based on the familiar objects and scenes from his home and neighborhood. These settings are combined with the formal elements of value, form, and symmetry, to express his feelings about his surroundings. He sees the often-overlooked areas of life as being particularly distinctive and essential, while his goal in his work is to find and portray the miraculous in the everyday. John earned his B.F.A. in Painting from Cleveland Institute of Art and his MFA from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. This fall will mark John’s 35th year of teaching at PFW.
