Beavers: Landscape Architects

Environmental Resources Center

Celebrate World Wetlands Day at the Environmental Resources Center with Professor Scott Bergeson as we explore how beavers, nature's architects, reshape wetland ecosystems and how their dam-building transforms landscapes, restores ecosystems, and inspires smarter conservation—one lodge at a time.

Weather permitting, we will walk from the center to PFW's California Road wetland and warm up with hot soup and cocoa after. RSVP by emailing [email protected] to let us know you're coming.

This event is free and open to students, faculty, and community members interested in wildlife, conservation, and the importance of wetlands even in the winter. This Walk and Talk is part of a longer, collaborative celebration across the Greater Fort Wayne area. More information can be found at lrwp.org/worldwetlandsday.
