Respect Boundaries Training
The Campus Sexual Violence Elimination (SaVE) Act, a federal law, requires all new incoming students, including transfer students and non-degree seeking students, to receive primary prevention and awareness education about sexual violence. In compliance with this law, new students are required to complete the Respect Boundaries: Sexual Violence Awareness Program. The program emphasizes Purdue’s commitment to a safe campus environment and each student’s shared responsibility, as a member of the community, to help foster a safe campus environment.
The Stop Campus Hazing Act, a federal law passed to strengthen protections against hazing on college campuses, establishes training that helps you recognize hazing, know where to report hazing and be aware of resources available to support yourself and others.

The training program covers applicable campus policies and includes several modules that cover the following topics:
Recognize and Prevent Hazing: training on identifying hazing behavior and steps to report hazing behavior.
Sexual Violence: training on recognizing and preventing sexual violence and relationship violence.
The training program also connects students with supplemental training resources.
Yes. While much of the content is the same for all three campuses, there are differences at each campus, such as the resources available and where to report harassment.
Yes. We understand this training covers sensitive topics that may be triggering for some students. If you are unable to complete this training, you can fulfill this requirement by taking an alternate training through the Office of the Vice President for Ethics and Compliance.
To access the Respect Boundaries Training, log in to your Purdue University Fort Wayne Brightspace account. The course can be found under the "My Courses" section in Brightspace. If the course does not appear in this screen, select "View All Courses." The course will be named by the semester and academic year, followed by "Respect Boundaries Title IX - REQUIRED." Select this course. The modules can be accessed under the "Content" section in this course. If you would like more additional instructions, please contact the Office for Civil Rights Compliance for additional assistance.
If you do not complete the program a hold will be placed on your registration. You will not be able to enroll in any future classes at Purdue until you complete the program.
You must complete the Respect Boundaries Quiz with 100% accuracy for the hold to be removed.
The Office for Civil Rights Compliance tries to lift holds from student accounts three (3) times per business day during normal business hours.
