Summer Work Schedule to End Friday

July 30, 2025

Dear Colleagues,

Purdue Fort Wayne’s leadership team implemented a modified campus-wide summer work schedule in May as a means of enhancing the campus work environment for faculty and staff while also ensuring the delivery of essential services for our students, visitors, and the broader campus community.

As we approach what promises to be an exciting fall semester, the summer work schedule will end Friday, as scheduled, and the university will resume normal business and office hours on Monday. This all takes place as we eagerly prepare for move-in day at student housing Aug. 22 and the start of classes Aug. 25.

Please be reminded that the university announced in April the discontinuation of guaranteed or standardized remote work days for all departments. However, a supervisor may permit an employee to infrequently work remotely on an as-needed basis with advance approval.

Thank you for all you are doing to serve our new and returning students this semester—and each other.

I look forward to seeing you around campus in the coming weeks!

Sincerely,

Ron Elsenbaumer, Chancellor
