Nurgul R. Aitalieva is Associate Professor of Public Administration at Purdue University Fort Wayne, where she has taught since 2014. She previously taught at the University of Tennessee and American University in Central Asia. Prior to pursuing a career in academia, she worked as a consultant for several international projects, including the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Asian Development Bank (ADB), and Technical Assistance to the Commonwealth of Independent States (TACIS).
Dr. Aitalieva received her Master of Science degree in Nonprofit Management from the New School (New York, NY, 2004), her Master of Public Administration degree from Appalachian State University (Boone, NC, 2009), and a Ph.D. degree in Political Science from the University of Tennessee (Knoxville, TN, 2014). Dr. Aitalieva has research interests in citizens’ perceptions of the public sector in general, and, in particular, trust in government, public performance, income inequality, and attitudes toward government spending.
